Pray for the City
Prayers for the city, from a summer evening walk around Liverpool's Chinatown - to add your prayers from that occasion, or to view others, please use the comments facility here.
May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.... May you be content knowing you are a child of God... Let His presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
"I feel the city inside me. I see the city when I open my eyes, I hear the city when it rumbles, when it sighs. I smell the city all the days and the nights." - words written into the pathway around Great George Square in Liverpool's Chinatown.
This website is for people wishing to share their prayers for the city, and to read those contributed by others.

This site originated from a walk which a group of people made around Liverpool city centre in June 2007. En-route they prayed in various ways, vocally, quietly, physically, using sticky labels and ribbons, and in this way left their gentle impression on the city and some of its fellow occupants [Map :: Photoset].
The group, The Well, meets on the second Sunday of each month in Liverpool, with a varied programme of informal worship in the Celtic tradition, drawing on material from Iona and beyond... using silence, symbol, light, poetry, music and more... More information from Ruth, here

Circle us, Lord.
Keep peace within, keep harm without.
Circle us, Lord.
Keep love within, keep hate without.
Lord, thank you for a new way of viewing our city.
As above, so below
As within, so without
May today there be peace within.
